Another Relapse

After playing a successful role of Santa in my family's Christmas party I felt like it was time to stand on a pair of skis again. First nearby my home, and then on a local hill. I decided to take it easy and took some really smooth and slow turns, didn't go into the woods and didn't do any jumps or rails either. It was really a mellow day. Because of my knee I didn't ski better than an average recreational skier, but I still enjoyed it like any day on skis.

I got back home and noticed that my bad knee was a little sore (or a bit more sore than it usually is), which was a surprise because I had really skied as calmly as I could. I went to see my doctor just two days later, but no clear reason for my slow recovery emerged. Now I'm under medication that might help, but it seems like the process of getting back to slopes, not to mention back to winning competitions, is longer than expected.

This winter was supposed to be dedicated to skiing full-time, now it's dedicated to rehab again. I graduated from high school in September so I can't even study. I spend my time mainly in gym and on Internet. A year ago I made a new year's promise to read more, so I also have a couple of books worth checking out, like Ian Kershaw's Hitler-biography, which my daddy gave me as a Christmas present. And then I have a girlfriend, who has kept me sane during all these bitter injuries. I don't really have other friends outside of the skiing world besides her.

One thing on web made me really happy yesterday. A couple of ski-buddies of mine will be releasing series of edits this season. The project is called Nipwitz, which according to them means nothing. However, the guys managed to make me more than proud of them, skillful and creative skiing with the right attitude. That's definitely something I would do if only...

A fat man and a skinny man were arguing about who was the more polite. The skinny man said he was more polite because he always tipped his hat to ladies. But the fat man knew he was more courteous because, whenever he got up cheap jordan and offered his seat, two ladies could sit down.
