2008 is at its end, and in two days we’re heading for the European alps. Word on the street says there’s quite a bit of snow in Switzerland, so I think that’s gonna be our first stop. I haven’t been too much in Switzerland before, so I’m stoked on skiing some new spots. Only bummer is that the Norwegian currency is at an all time low, so things are gonna cost a bit more than usual.  Good thing I’m not a big-eater then.

Making the quarter-pipe in Lemonsjøen on the 23rd with home-coming star André Villa  and his father Kjetil, the owner of the resort. Kjetil is a former Norwegian motocross-champion and a kick-ass gravemaskin-driver. This resulted in a small but cool and quarter for me to make my first ever hand-plant in. I don’t know why I waited twentyfive years to try such a cool still fairly easy trick!

 André spent Christmas back home and are still recovering from a leg injury he got in an FMX world-cup contest in Poland this summer.  Click for footage. He's a good guy with mad skills on the bike, and will be back in 2009 for sure. Check his homepage for more info and photos.

Saturdady was opening day at lemonsjøen, my local resort, with -20 degrees celcius. That's cold.                                                                                                           Today were better temprature-wise, though a bit cloudy.

We're not spoiled with too much snow here yet, but they're pretty thorough with their groomers, and with approx. 1.5 km not to steep and not to flat slopes it's fun anyways. They also got a big camel-hump looking thing going in the park made by the snowgun just pointing up in no wind, leaving a steep 15ft nipple for us to jib on until they plow it down to make the first hit in the park. Good fun!

Not really.
After two weeks of solid studying I took some time off this weekend to have the official season kick-off at Skeikampen. Skeikampen is a kjip-ass resort about two hours away, and with hardly any snow and aprox. 17 alltidude meters opened, I almost wish I hadn't. Almost. It was actually quite fun, and at least I'm done with this seasons first faceplant. A small jump with a icy landing gave me a skrubbsår in my face and a minor headache. Watching ski-movies affects my approach on skiing for sure.
It all looks so easy!

My camera got stolen last winter, and I haven't gotten a new one. So still sorry, no pics. But I suggest you check out Field prod.'s short-edit for Sweet Protection's home page. They make good looking gear aswell, so go tell your mom as christmas is closing in.

The studying I mentioned is for my final exam as a carpenter. The last four years I've been working as a carpenter to finance my winter-escapades, and this spring I found out that I can now take the test without needing to go to school. I don't think I want to work as a carpenter any much longer, but it's nice to have a piece of paper saying you're capable of doing something productive. I mean, it's fun to goof around, but it can only take you that far. Sure, you can catch a brake, become famous, filthy rich and all that, but at the end of the day, I like the idea of beeing able to put up an honest days work:) I don't mean to moralise or anything, by all means. Soon I'll have this piece of paper, and I can finally quit my job, go skiing and get my priorities straight again:)

And, yeah, I almost forgot. Guess who's going to russia and have his debut in the Freeride world tour this winter?

And there it was. The first snowfall. Returning from a weekend of good fun in Oslo, to three inches of snow in my front yard. The first snowball is thrown, and winter is definitly on it's way:)

Fri Flyt (norwegian ski-magazine) kicked off their annual ski-movie tour this saturday, showing "Get Lucky", and "Claim". Both of them good movies, and extra fun too see Eric Hjorleifson finding time to visit Norway and telling us what's what. Cool to meet such an awesome skier, and learning he is a nice guy too. Of course Even Sigstad, Filip Christensen, Lasse Nyhaugen, PK Hunder and the rest of the field-crew were there, and I think pretty much everyone had a ball, I know I did.

Hi folks.

No braking news from up north, but the autumn ski-movie bonanza is about to begin and this saturday, "Get Lucky" by Filip Christensen has it's official world premier. It was nominaded for best film, and won the "Coup de Coeur" (jury's favourite) at the annual IF3 festival in Montreal. Be sure to check out www.fieldproductions.com for more details. This one is gonna be a banger for sure:)

We're now past mid september, wich means the small-game hunting season has begun, and there's nothing like the smell of gunpowder in the morning. Allthough the number of bird is at an all-time low, there's still some left too be seen, and having so few means it's ok to miss. But working as a carpenter in Vågå is a tough living, so you still wanna get those kills and bring some food to the table. .

So here it is. My blogging career has officially begun, and what I'm about to give is neither breath-taking nor too exiting, but that's just the way autumns tend to be where I live.

Beautiful though, I have to say, but feels more like a transit period between lazy summer days and another (hopefully) busy winter. Days go by, nights getting longer wich means winter is on it's way. Good stuff!

Anyways, this is my blog, and I'll try to keep whoever interested up to speed on what's going on..
