RIP CRJ

The 4frnt team, and the ski world in general suffered a big loss in the way too early departure of CR Johnson on the 24th of February. CR's approach to the ski industry has inspired many, me included, and his come-back after the head injury in 2005 showed us all that nothing is impossible as long as you've got passion and determination in your life.

My thoughts goes first and foremost out to his family and friends in Squaw Valley. But also to the whole skiing community, who has lost one of the most inspiring and colorful contender.

RIP CRJ

Russia cancelled..

Comp in russia got canceled due to unstable snow-conditions and bad weather. Still had a blast today though, charging russian forests like there was no tomorrow. But there is, and at two pm my flight back to europe is leaving from Sochi. First stop is Moscow, then Frankfurt, Munich and finally Chamonix for the next stop of the tour. Since there was no comp in russia, there will be two held in chamonix, at two different venues. Weather forecast for france says shitty weather is due to come, so no surprises for new cancellations I guess.

Pics!

Arrived in Russia, all my luggage included and are currently sitting in the hotel lobby catching up with the rest of the world. Krasnaja really put my gore-tex to the test yesterday as it was pouring down, even at the very top at 2200 meteres. Weather-forecast don't really look to promising, but the one thing I learned about the weather-forecast lately is that it doesn't really forecast the weather, so things can still turn out o.k. Comp will most likely happen this weekend as the reports say there could be some sun.  Today was bib-draw, and I drew 27. Pretty late but I dont think these conditions favourises an early start, so it's all good

Going skiing in Krasnaja Polyana. No joke!

Alps, revisited

First day in the Alps over with sun, powder and flamboyant conditions. Today was day one of the sweet-catalogue shoot and because Norwegian Airlines managed to mess with our luggage again, just like last year, we had to stay close to Münich airport to pick up some more skis tomorrow. Bummer. No worries for us with skis though, there's no lack of good resorts. Snow-reports says a massive snow-storm is gonna hit us hard on Thursday and plan is to head south tomorrow night. Switzerland's got the best base, but no need for big mountains till the storm settles so let's try try to find some tree-skiing till then.

Christmas was spent back home with epic conditions at Lemonsjøen. Trollhø huckers recruit-team, second to none, charging harder than ever and helping us all remember we're not getting younger.. Hope you all had a happy new year. We're off for some schnitzels, but I'll be back with some pics and hopefully more reports on soft european powder. Just the way we like it!

Time flies and I just woke up on my couch realizing today was the first of december.  Come snow, come winter - I'm prepared! Kvitfjell keeps providing good conditions, and today me, Per and Øystein had a nice day with sun, snow and good skiing.

kvitfjell today. White!

Winter is on!

and Kvitfjell this saturday showed us what it's all about. Ten inches of fresh on a pretty decent base-layer was all we needed for the best season kick-off ever.  Later that night this shady bunch played for 600 paying visitors at our local inndoor sports-dome. I kept my distance.

Back home eating pizza after a hard days work. Things are evolving and today we mounted the first plywood-sheet. A bit premature, but I was anxious to see if the 5/8" plywood would bend without soaking it first. It did so no worries. Coping is mounted and we're starting to see the end. Can't wait to do the first drop-in

one down, 89 to go

Klones ramppark is under construction, and looking good! Ever since my old miniramp (beneath) got torn down by mistake a couple of years ago, I've been looking for a place to set up a new.

Opportunity came after the local agriculture school closed up. Alot of bikers and in-liners in Vågå, and the moneyspenders  granted us enough funds for us to build it suitable for both skating and bikes.

Homeboy Villa's got it made, and are in L.A right now gettin ready for this weekends x-games. Tune in on www.freecaster.com and witness the action!

Not much action going on back home though. The odd skate session or tennis-match replaced by crappy weather again. But still plenty off summer-days to go though so a bit early to write it off I guess.

Next up is my sisters wedding. That's next weekend. Me and my brother are going to play the violin as she walks up the aisle. I used to play when I was younger, but I'm young no more and have a bit of rehearsing to do. My brother's got the touch though, so I'll lean a bit on him. It'll work out. I'm sure.
